WELCOME TO THE BBA/LRGVD
What is the BBA/LRGVD?
The Bluebonnet Area/Lower Rio Grande Valley District is a regional area of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is compromised of 64 congregations in 65 counties of Central and South Texas - from Georgetown to Del Rio and all points in between: including Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
To be a faithful, growing church that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice. (Micah 6:8)
To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps "to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
What does the BBA/LRGVD do for you?
Congregations turn to the Bluebonnet Area Office for leadership, guidance and support during some of the most critical times in the life of the church. Whether the need is to facilitate a new church, assist in the search for a minister, mentor and monitor candidates for ministry or provide prospective during a period of crisis, the BBA serves the local church, your church, in many ways.
The BBA is also actively involved in a variety of ministries, which touch people of all ages and circumstances, both within the BBA and around the world.
What can you do for the BBA/LRGVD?
First of all, COME and SEE! There are many opportunities for active participation and hands-on mission in and throughout our own area.
Secondly, PLEDGE and SUPPORT! The BBA is primarily funded through the financial support of the area churches and every gift counts!
Please include the BBA in your annual budget and join with us as we seek to grow in faithful service to our calling to live and serve as Disciples of Christ. May our love for God and our love for our neighbors be reflected as we come together - linking hearts and hands in service.
